I have only one thing to say;

A very weird game.

It started to get weird from 5. b4 b5.

And it end in a weird way as well, lol.

Hahaha, it was kinda fun though. It would be even more fun in person. Could you tell I was taunting them?

Anyway, any suggestions on how to make a better opening?

Also, at first I was planning on Castling for that last move, but it wouldn't accept it. Any reason why?

Nevermind, apparently you can't castle while in check. I was more satisfied with that last move eitherway

Move 13, that whole pawn thing. I was trying to play a psychological game. I guess it only works in RL.

Thanks for help though Kaze.

Oh, I knew he wouldn't, I was just trying to play a psychological game. From experience, moves like that makes people a bit more frantic and a bit less rational.

I don't get it though, why did he surrender? The match seemed to be quite even on after the last recorded move.

I'm black, voltorn is white. The last 2 or 3 moves by me were frantic because I was running out of time.

I should have moved 4. Bb5, instead of 4. dxe5, but I didn't think 'bout that, lol xD

You might want to try this way:

1. e4 e5

2. Kf3 d6

3. d4 Kf6

4. dxe5 Kxe4

5. Qd5 Nc5

6. Bg5 Be7

7. exd6 cxd6

And why's that? Is it to attack two pawns at once or is it more than that?

I'm guessing it has something to do with that potential bishop attack.

Yup, that's right. ^^

Kf6 is very useful to protect the d6 because of 4. dxe5 Kxe4. You wouldn't even lose a pawn in this way. =P

And at the end, your position is more favorable because you have the chance to castle earlier. But the white probably would go 8. Bb5 to prevent you from castling first. Now you may block it with your knight. It would be better if the bishop decided to take the knight because you can take it back using your pawn, which would force the white queen to retreat somewhere, and leave you a chance to castle. ^^

Wow that was a great match noex, well played!

But to be fair your opponent made a big mistake with Nd4

Oh, definitely. So I'm not really counting this one as a "win" per se. I'm just waiting until I beat Voltorn.

Ok, that last part confused me. How exactly does that affect the queen?

Btw, isn't Voltorn supposed to be a newb at chess? From what I've seen he's really good. Also from what I've seen, you're good too Noex (aren't you a newb too?)

If only you say the first two matches I played against Voltorn. Even that one he has in his thread is pretty bad. I've gotten better though.
