Actually most people here are really nice and welcoming and helpful. But just like anywhere there are some stand out assholes. I think it all depends how you approach the foreign culture. And of course make an effort to speak the native language. And no kidnapping attempts yet. But I think I might want to kidnap one of the locals to take back with me, they can be quite charming :)

Because...you're a person I don't really know on the Internet. And I always just feel awkward saying things like that for some reason. But I don know how tall the statue is! It could be only 3 ft tall. Or 12! Once my best friend when I was a kid told me her mom was 9 ft tall and I believed her for a while.
Scary things like crazy traffic that speeds up when they see pedestrians trying to cross, or guys who are really forward when making advances...I think I believe what my friends tell me even more .___.
