Valkyrie Chapter 1: Emerald Beginning

The Jest

Beneath the Mask...
#1
The skies were clouded by metal that day.

thousands of ships were covering the entire planet, some larger then others, smaller ones clearly being one-pilot fighters by the size and shape of them, The fighters had long body and wings just as long, but had arcs on the ends of the wings. Beneath the cockpit were guns similar to machhine guns of human fighters. they also had shield but nothing like in the fictions, they strictly covered the shape of the fighter, being no larger or smaller then them. They weren't force shields either, more like reinforced metal about 20 times that of titanium. The larger ones appears to be carriers of these walking animals, landing on the ground to make them march on through the city in their black uniforms before flying back up into the air. But the largest of this armada was without a doubt the flagship, The UTS Infernas. The Infernas was clearly the mothership in the eyes of the humans, the size seem to stretch through a city, and the width of the ship was far more massive stretching 10 kilometers wide.

Within the ship's bridge lies a bunch of animals on computers, while the Colonel sat on a throne, helmet off, revealing his face. An brown wildcat with golden slit eyes. Behind the Ocelot was the Captain, her helmet hiding her face. He looked at a raccoon he summoned who was standing front of him, shocked at what he said. "...Sir, within 24 hours!? We can't make a military mining facility within that time, and I doubt the people of the planet can do any better." The Raccoon said. "Then make it simplistic, I did I specifically say how? No, because I don't care how. I need the team ready to mine by 24 hours, and I expect results within 48." The Ocelot said. "And....if there is nothing by that time?" The raccoon nervously asked. ".....Sargent can you come over here one second?" He asked a muscular wolf, who was sitting on the computer. He got up and stood next to the Colonel, then the Colonel quickly drew his pistol and shot him in the head. The wolf was then pulled back by the force of the laser, and fell to the ground dead. The raccoon looking at him scared. "Guess what, you just got a promotion. I expect results in 48 hours, ...Sargent." The Colonel said. The raccoon, more nervous then ever, nodded and walked away. "Was that necessary? Seargent Miller was the best weapons specialist there was." The captain asked, he voice muffled by the helmet. "We'll find another." The Colonel simply said.

"How do we get into this mess?" A brown haired boy thought as he started blasting blue orbs at the aliens. The result were always the same: explosion on contact. A blonde haired boy was also taking care of aliens with his sword, a beautiful blue sword with a golden hilt. It was Jake and Tai, in the crossfire of a battle. In what was originally the city of San Diego. Meanwhile, Joey was on a rooftop of that same city, he seemed laid back, so muuch so that he seemed like he was resting. But when one of the Aliens was heading for him, after being tired from going up all the steps. They see him and point their guns at him. "You're of these humans right?" One of them asked. Both were cats by the looks of it, they looked plain, nothing like a wildcat. One was brown, the other was red. "...So what if I am?" Joey asked. "Stand up, drop all weapons, put your hands behind your head, and tell your forces to stand down if they want to live." The red cat said. Joey gave a smirk, He got up slowly, dropped his weapons, then placed his hands behind his head. The two cats the stood by his sides, and went to kick the weapons away. ...Big mistake. Joey quickly grabbed his two Uzis from the floor, did a backflip before the two had time to react, and fired lead on the cats, until they drop off the rooftop. "...Heh, Try landing your feet now. ...You'd think these aliens would be so advanced to protect themselves from lead." Joey said to himself. He then looked down at the people fighting, and with a calm smile he rose his Uzi into the air, and made a battle cry.

"FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, SEND THESE ALIENS BACK TO PLANET HELL!"

"You don't want to do that," calmly stated a brown-haired man in a black bomber jacket, sitting on a rooftop A/C unit and watching the chaos below, aware of the extraterrestrials pointing strange rifles at him. "Just turn around, and walk away, and I won't tell anyone you bothered me."
"And if we don't?" one of the ETs asked, his voice distorted through the helmet.
Wordlessly, Bomber Jacket stepped aside, revealing a similar pair of ETs, their helmets split open and large, vertical bleeding gashes dead-center on their faces. Sunlight gleamed off the throwing knife now in his left hand. "I think it's pretty clear." Taylor Hiss turned around, waiting for the ETs to ruminate on his offer, and watched the streets below, as a motorcycle weaved through slow, stopped, and outright abandoned cars on the freeway, hounded by a ET's fighter craft.
-----------------------------------------
"Dammit, dammit, dammit!" the Motorbiker grumbled as he swerved to avoid another volley of blasts. Earlier today he'd been wondering how he could skip class without getting caught, and now he was caught up in an honest-to-god alien invasion.
"Next exit, take the next exit; remember you're going for the police station," said a voice in the headset under his helmet.
"Yeah, thanks, Drew," he said, silently adding for the eighth time. He needed to arm the students holed up in the dorm quad, before the ETs decided the campus would make a good occupation point, and the students hostages. He dodged another abandoned car and careened down the exit ramp, running a red light and screaming down the street, under tree cover. "Haha, sucker. Can't hit what you can't see."

The Chase of Highway

'Sweet!' Zack exclaimed under his helmet as he looked over the motorcycles. Reks shrugged at Zackary's amazement.
'Why the amazement?' Reks asked under his helmet, as he took no delays in starting up the other motorcycle. Zackary looked at Reks as he started up his one.
'I've always wanted to ride these!' Zackary answered. Reks tilted his head.
'Why? What's wrong with our rides?' Reks questioned. Zackary shrugged.
'Our vehicles don't look as awesome as ones down here.' Zackary said. Reks just sighed.
'Whatever you say.' Reks muttered. Suddenly the blaring of alarms went off and the shouts of humans carried out from the facility nearby. 'Looks like they've found out what we've taken, that's our cue to leave.' Reks said. But no sooner did he say that did Zack rev his motorcycle and speed up on the highway ahead. Reks sighed again before revving his motorcycle to catch up to Zackary.

No sooner afterwards the sounds of more motorcycles joined up behind Reks and Zackary. They both looked back and saw that the facility had sent a squad of soldiers on motorcycles after them. Reks and Zackary then looked at each other and nodded at the same time before speeding up the highway. The sights beside the highway went by so quickly as they went. Zackary took out his beam rifle with his right hand and Reks drew his pistol with his left, both aiming at the squad pursuing them. The sounds of beam projectiles shooting through the air could be heard as Zackary and Reks fired on their pursuers. Their pursuers followed suit and retaliated with their weapons, firing bullets from their firearms as well as from custom firearms apparently installed in the front of their motorcycles. Zackary finally took a few seconds to fire his last shot and he managed to hit two of the soldiers in one shot. Zackary then turned back to facing where he was driving. Reks then accelerated his motorcycle, getting a good twenty metres in front, before suddenly doing a drastic turn that made his motorcycle twist about so that then Reks was driving in reverse whilst facing the squad of soldiers behind Zackary. Zack was confused for a moment at Reks' actions, but how he knew his cousin, Reks knew what he was doing. As the sparkles of bullets fired by his enemies flew by, Reks pulled out both his beam pistols and his Coordinator senses tingled as he pulled the triggers multiple times, firing a hail of beam projectiles upon his enemies. Half of Reks' shots landed their marks, knocking out four of the motorcyclist soldiers in the few seconds Reks began his frenzy. Reks finally twisted his motorcycle the right way round and soon he was back on Zackary's right hand side being pursued by four of the remaining soldiers.
'Show off...' Zackary's voice said on the comm. that was linked between their helmets. Reks chuckled.
'That makes us even then...' He shot back smugly as they continued their escape.

As Reks and Zackary continued onwards, they and their pursuers entered a tunnel and the flash of lights within the tunnel went by quickly as the drove. Zackary looked back for a moment and then swore.
'Shit...' He cursed. Reks looked at him and looked back. The line of the remaining soldiers opened up and they let through what looked like another vehicle, a warthog to be exact. As it sped up to move ahead of the other soldiers, Reks saw there was a man at the turret atop of it, and suddenly a heavy shot came out of nowhere and exploded just in between Reks and Zackary. They weren't so close up in the middle, but the force was still enough to knock them a little. Reks shook his head and Zackary swore again. Reks saw light at the end of the tunnel a distance away and he began to think about the odds. With a weapon like that, we won't last to the end of the tunnel... Reks thought quickly. But maybe... Maybe we an use the tunnel to our advantage... Reks thought. Then he looked at Zackary's motorcycle. Zack was tilting his head at Reks.'Oh boy, you have an idea don't you?' Zackary said smugly. Reks nodded. 'I was thinking the same thing cous', no sooner said than done!' With that, Reks sped up ahead of Zackary. Their pursuers still continued to fire shots, but then Zackary sped up so he was just behind Reks. In that split second, he smirked beneath his helmet as he "camouflaged" and turning his motorcycle 90 degrees to the left, standing up quickly and kicking off the motorcycle. In those few seconds afterwards, Reks slowed down a little as Zackary landed on the back of Reks' motorcycle with his rifle ready. In that one moment, his precision rolled perfect and that one shot he fired landed its mark. At the same moment Zackary's motorcycle got jammed in front of the warthog, Zackary's single beam rifle shot pierced the fuel tank and ignited the fuel. Suddenly it exploded, rupturing the warthog's fuel tank afterwards and setting off a chain reaction of explosions off at the same time.'I like all the pretty lights.' Zackary joked as Reks accelerated his motorcycle to get ahead of the explosion. After a few moments, the two finally made it out of the tunnel with the fires of the explosion just behind them. Reks slowed down quickly and finally stopped at the end of the highway where it was still being constructed. 'Now that. Was. Awesome.' Zackary said as he took off his helmet and stood up. Reks chuckled as he took off his own helmet, shook his head about and stretched.

Cronic stood upon a nearby rooftop, sat down with his back leaning against the edge. Across the rooftop were a number of charred anthromorphic corpses. "Anyone else feel like trying their luck?" Cronic said to himself, as he loaded fresh clips into his guns and cocked them. "This is why I hate taking vacations. They always get interrupted. But this is a first." Cronic said, staring upward to the ships above. "You'd need a whole armada and then some to take those things down. It's not an invasion, as there'd be a hell of a lot more death and destruction... So what is it they're after...?" He said to himself.

Nailo felt extremely, extremely tired. The operation has passed with success. Seven days ago the last part of her arms and legs was adapted and installed.
She looked at her left biomechanical hand shining on the sunlight. It felt different, stronger somehow. Then her real body parts.

The summer sun was coming through the stained-glass windows of a third-floor room of the hospital.
Her eyes got heavy and started to close. When someone knocked on her room doors.
Three man came bursting through the doors of the room, before she managed to mutter a reply to the knocking.

"You are coming with us." They said.

And before she could manage to get up. They moved quickly. Like they had a task to do. Focused and fast.
One of them took out a shot and stabbed the needle shot into her belly. She feelt dizzy after 2 minutes.
Her eyes started to feel heavy. And her pulse slowed down. She could still hear the man talking on the phone. "The retrival was a success." One of the man said.

Lovely.

Aisa surveyed her surroundings before admitting defeat, she was lost. Just moments ago her ship had landed and she was given orders to explore the area. She did as she told, but went in the opposite direction as everyone else. She sighed, "What to do now?" she asked herself. Her ears twitched as she heard a distant boom. Her head instinctively turned toward the sound, quite a few distance away she saw small sparks. Fire? Her muscles tensed and she raced towards the scene. The gun strapped on her shoulder bounced comfortably against her as she ran. Then she stopped just as suddenly as she had began, "What am I doing?" Aisa silently whispered in the air. This wasn't training, she didn't have to run towards every noise she heard to assess the situation. Those years of miliitary training had made her move without thinking; automatically, unconsciously just like how her heart beats without her having to constantly tell it to. She scrunched up her face in disgust and shivered, she was becoming what she feared...

"Hey you!"
Falî knew that the guards standing at the doorway meant her, but she ignored them and continued taking apart one of the five extra engines. After all it was her 'Assigned dutie' to keep cleaning and oiling. Cleaning and oiling.
"Falî Siagathar! Get over here."
"Oh you mean me? Can't you see I'm working? You stupid thick-headed jerks..." She scuffed at them, then turned away shielding her face with her wings, showing her disrespect to the higher ranked staff. She hated the place, what it had done to her. If she never came along in the first place she wouldn't be in this inhumane working situation. Scrubbing wheels and gears from the gooey substance similar to oil and then re-applying the oil again to keep it clean and in tiptop shape in case something would happen to the main engine.

The metallic clinking noises had become a standard for her to hear, so it was obvious when the guards started approaching her, their steel boots clanking against the floor. What she misinterpreted however was how close they were. Suddenly she felt two strong hands grab her wings and pushing them towards her back to tie them up.
"HEY!!!" She yelled and reflexively she swung a punch towards the closest guard a Lizard hybrid. But being tired from the hard work she was no match for him, who after all must have expected it, and he easily blocked And twisted her so she faced the ground.
"You son of a bitch!! DON'T TOUCH MY WINGS!! Don't you DARE!"
"It's Procedure and you know that! Why do you always resist?"
She protested as the Lizzard tied her wings to her back so she was unable to stretch them, while the other one, a goat of kinds, were holding her down. When the struggle was over they helped her up and started leading her towards the exit and along the hallway towards the captain of the ship. She was told that she had been requested for an audience with him, for whatever reason, and that she might have to give up those cleaning gears. "What the hell do you mean by that?!" She hissed at the guards leading her.
The guards simply replied that they didn't know what he had meant and that it was better for her to shut up.
Unwillingly she shut her mouth and kept her insults to her self, while thinking of whatever they meant with giving up the cleaning stuff. Then she realized... "Oh no... He is NOT putting me onto the field!! Screw that bastard! HE won't do that!!" She yelled at the guards and stopped in her tracks. She refused to be put on the field, where so many died. She had heard a bit about it, but not much..Just that they needed something that these so called humans had.

But the two guards were persistent in completing their task of bringing her to the captain, so they dragged her along, till they reached the door where they then entered a code of some kind, then walked in with her. "No I ain't doing that shit!! NO. Well screw him just because he is a so called failure to a captain doesn't meant that he can toy with lives!!!"
Far too late she had realized that she was in fact already in the captains room. Far too late..

Taylor was about to drop the second ET off the building when he saw a larger-than-usual explosion in the distance, where the freeway was being renovated. "Huh. You're lucky," he said coldly as he released the alien into the alley below. "You just get broken legs," he finished, as he started running the roofs towards the site of the blast.
-----------------------------------
The Motorbiker was nearly run off the road by an unmarked truck leaving the hospital as he passed; he flashed the driver his middle finger, and sped onward to the police station, parking the bike on the sidewalk. "Alright Drew, I'm there... Finally."
"Great. Get a decent supply of weapons and head back. We got plannin' to do, Austin."
"Yeah... Oh... I just hit the jackpot." He took off the helmet and shook loose his blond ponytail, smirking at the sight of an intact SWAT truck. "Lemme see if I can't find the keys..."

Cronic turned around to look at the explosion in the distance. "Looks like all hell's about to break loose. These people, they're ready to explode. They're dealing with a bunch of things who made the millitary and their technology look like a bunch of pushovers, who're a bunch of anthromorphic freaks from god-knows where." Cronic said, getting to his feet before turning to face where the explosion was. "Course, someone's gotta put these freaks in their place. Not everyone here'll just simply lay down and let them do-as-they-please, afterall." Cronic said, before sliding down the edge of the rooftop into a nearby alleyway, landing down near something that was covered in a thick sheet of cloth. "Well, might as well ride in style." He said, before pulling the cloth off, revealing a red sports motorbike, which he then promptly climbed onto, and took a grip of the handlebars. "DNA analysis inititalizing, scanning.....Rider identified as Crobalt Nicholas Crystalis, access granted." A computerized voice said, as the engine then roared into life. "Let's go." Cronic said, as he then sped out of the alleyway, driving towards the explosion.

Moving On and Out

'Too bad the explosion was too noticeable.' Reks said as he stood up and walked to the left side of the highway, looking out from where he and Zackary waited, on the edge of an unfinished highway. 'Just about anybody around could hear or see it. Or both.' Zackary shrugged as he leaned against Reks' motorcycle.
'Man, and I lost such a cool ride. I always wanted one of those.' Zackary whined. Reks chuckled.
'Sorry. Next time I'll ask our enemies NOT to send something unexpected after us.' Reks said sarcastically. Zackary shrugged again.
'Eh. I still think it was rather cool. It's not every day you get chased by guys on cool vehicles and get to blow them all up in a highway tunnel.' Zackary said smiling. Reks tilted his head and Zackary's smile faded away. 'Anyways... What do we do now? We got what we wanted...' Zackary asked holdng up the data pad he had used in the facility. Reks look out to the facility from where they stood.
'Well for starters... The present we left for them should be going off in 3... 2... 1...' After exactly one second Reks had finished, the small explosions began to go off around the facility, before finally it went out with a huge explosion, a mini mushroom cloud almost. Zackary laughed.
'So dramatic cous'.' He joked. Reks shrugged. 'So now what? Steal information, check. Blow up facility, check...' Reks then finished the sentence for him.
'Escape with our tails and wait at the rendezvous point for our ride, check.' Reks finished. Zackary stretched and yawned.
'Greeeaat.' He said. 'Want to play that game they play down here sometimes? Rock, Paper, "Skissors"?' Zack asked. Reks looked at him incredulously.
'Scissors.' Reks corrected him after a moment. 'You have got to be kidding me...'

A while afterwards, Reks finally submitted to boredom and decided to play with Zack in order to tide the time. Though he was really annoyed by Zackary's incessant way of rubbing it in for winning... "Fifteen times in a row."
'Ok, this is finally getting boring.' Reks said as he stopped playing. Zackary shrugged. 'Only because I'm winning.' He chimed as he poked his tongue out at Reks. He shot Zackary a cold look, but Zackary just shrugged again. 'Hey, I don't know about what's going on, I'm just waiting alongside you, which isn't one my strengths you know.' Reks sighed.
'Mhmm. I hear you.' He said. 'You never could wait for anything patiently even if your life depended on it.' Zackary laughed and just sat back on the motorcycle. 'Though we might have to cut short of just waiting... Looks like there are people who want to join the party.' Zackary suddenly sat up and looked over to Reks, who was looking over the side of the highway. 'We might have to hold out against some others after us.' Reks put on his helmet and Zackary looked up to the skyline that was shrouded by many airships and shrugged.
'Boy, are they gonna be disappointed.' He said as he put on his helmet and stood up. Zackary took out his rifle and hold it in his hands as he looked through the smoke filled tunnel, which was the only way other than the rooftops onto where they were. 'Cous, do you think we can use this and make another pretty explosion?' Zackary asked. Reks looked at him as he took out his guns. He thought about it for a moment and then shrugged.
'If you wish it, be my guest.' Reks said.
'Sweet.' Zackary said as he played around with the motorcycle a little more. Reks just stood ready for anybody that might come at them. I'm not going to let anyone take away my family again...

The moment the doors to the captain's chambers would open, was the moment Fali was greeted by a pistol barrel between her eyes. The one holding the pistols was the calm-looking captain, still wearing her mask. "For future reference, if you're going to talk shit behind the back of a superior officer, don't be so close to them that they can hear you. I can guarantee if you bad-mouthed the Colonel when you were close to him, you wouldn't be standing for as long as you are right now." She said in a cold hard manner that one might express through years of experience as she retracted her arm and place her gun in the holster. She looked at the lizard and goat. "That'll be all, return to your duty." She told them. she then looked at Fali again. "The Colonel has given his orders, the mining facility is to be constructed wiithin 24 hours, and results are to be given in 48. Failures seems to not be an option. ...Two lizards are coming back to the Infernas as we speak. They shall be your partners. You are to find a suitable place to construct the mining field and report back with exact and accurate coordinates." The Captain said. Upon examination, her room isn't exactly better then anyone else's rooms. It was somewhat larger, had a bigger bed, and had a drawer with a single glass bottle on it. Besides that, she clearly had no upgrades in comparison. She went and opened up a drawer, grabbing some kind of device inside. It looked much like yellow remote with a monitor, but no antennas or anything like that. "This indicator detects the energy we're looking for. The larger the reading, the closer you are to an amount of it. When you find it, transmit the coordinates to the Infernas and await further instruction." The Captain said.

Jake, Tai, and Joey all saw the explosion. "Now how did they get past our defences!?" Joey asked as he ran from rooftop to rooftop. Jake and Tai looked at the explosion, each other, then ran off towards it.

Joey saw Taylor running towards it as well, and decided to follow him. But on thew way, he heard about the retrival of the girl via his communicator. He pushed a button to respond. "Excellent work, take her to gthe base, and don't let her out of your sight." He said while following Taylor.

Taylor glanced over his shoulder as he ran. "Crap. The Feds' man..." He did not want to get drawn into anything by the military. He dropped off the next roof, and continued towards the blast site on street level, keeping an eye on the sky until he got there, hopping the rubble of the demolished tunnel and launching a knife through Zack and Reks's motorbike, breaking open the gas tank. "Heh. Howdy..." he said after he landed from the leap, slowly raising his head to meet the lizards' eyes.
----------------------
"I just realized something," Austin muttered into his headset as he retrieved the truck's keys.
"Bad roads," Drew realized at the same time.
"Yep. Go for it anyway?"
"You better. It's not like the ET's are giving us any grief back here anytime soon. I honestly think the situation's blown over for us..." Drew said. "I think you can take your time gettin' back."
Austin shrugged, despite his friend not being able to see him. "I'll see what I can do. I'll get off the line, let you have some peace and quiet."
"Yeah. I'll see if I can't get news or whatever back here. Worst case... I dunno. Can't imagine doin' worse than being huddled up here blind and deaf."

The two guards released their grip on Falî's arms and nodded, then returned to their standing aside for new orders, keeping Falî with the captain and the cold steel barrel digging into her forehead. It wasn't the threat factor that made her silent. It was the anger towards the captain and everyone on the crew. She had put up with enough from them already and now they most likely planned to take her to the front lines, where people died. It was NOT something Falî intended on going easy on. But then the Captain spoke, and to Falî's surprise the captain was female.

"For future reference, if you're going to talk shit behind the back of a superior officer, don't be so close to them that they can hear you. I can guarantee if you bad-mouthed the Colonel when you were close to him, you wouldn't be standing for as long as you are right now." She spoke in a calm but threatful voice.
Falî really had to bite her tongue to hinder herself from snapping back at her words. She was free flowing in speech, but she wasn't stupid, and she preferred to keep her head.
The Captain then withdrew her gun and placed it back in her holster then looked at the two guards which made Falî a little less held back. But she still kept her mouth shut.

"That'll be all, return to your duty."

As soon as the words were spoken Falî elbowed one of the guards as she violently pulled away from their grip hissing curses at them as they left. The guard however quicly stood up and proudly walked away, knowing that the captain knew what she was doing. The captain then continued;

"The Colonel has given his orders, the mining facility is to be constructed within 24 hours, and results are to be given in 48. Failures seems to not be an option. ...Two lizards are coming back to the Infernas as we speak. They shall be your partners. You are to find a suitable place to construct the mining field and report back with exact and accurate coordinates." She paused mid sentence in which Falî took a chance to take a glance around the room for anything that could possibly help her. It was a huge spaced room compared to the place where Falî had to sleep, but it was still dull and gray. A boring place, in lack of better words.

She took a few steps away from the door, stretching at the device that kept her wings folded and close to her body. It was starting to strain her muscles and made her back sore. She moved her shoulders around to ease the feeling, and moved a little, however it only made it slightly more worse. So she stopped and stood still, swooping her tail back and forth, clearly showing her annoyance over the situation.

"This indicator detects the energy we're looking for. The larger the reading, the closer you are to an amount of it. When you find it, transmit the coordinates to the Infernas and await further instruction."
The captain said. And my that time Falî had had enough.

"So, Missy, are you done yet? Shut your pie hole."Fali snapped. The words just came flowing out of her mouth, all repressed hate all repressed discomfort that she had been put through. " How come you didn't shoot me yet? Being a under-praised captain and all, stuck in this crappy rat hole you call quarter... hearing true facts about you, forcing people to die and all. Why haven't you shot me yet? Coward? So the Colonel needs something from me. Or needs me. Otherwise you would have disposed me. Right?" Falî snapped at the female. She knew she w as pushing her luck but she didn't care. She was tired, and angry, and this was her chance to actually defuse all bottled up anger she held towards the place to someone more important than the brainless guards around her.

"And besides sending people to die on this rotten plannet, you make them babysit? Keh. Partners my ass. Oh, and one more thing. You think that I actually will do that work for you? huh? Do you really think that I would construct and build something for YOU? Don't make me laugh."
She continued, feeling no threat. If the captain would have really wanted to shoot her, she would already be dead, Falî figured. She took two more steps towards the captain really wanting to attack, but knowing that if she did she wouldn't stand a chance in the condition she was in now, her dark gray skin all sore and dry from the work and over all tiredness. No that battle would have to come later. However she could still continue the verbally one.

"Screw you, and your technical devices. I won't do it you ragged so called captain. "

Cronic continued his approach towards the explosion, weaving through traffic, both oncoming and the traffic he was passing. "Might make sense to take this ride to the skies, but that said, it'd probably involve me and getting shot down in mid-flight. Better to play it safe." Cronic thought to himself as he showed no sign of slowing down, keeping his speed consistent as he made his way to the blast site. "Course, things haven't been boding well for us ever since those ships showed up. They easily overpowered our millitary. What's there to stop them blowing this planet to kingdom come when they've taken whatever it is they came for?" Cronic thought to himself.

Unexpected Company

'Are you done whatever you're doing Zack?' Reks asked. Zack shook his head.
'Almost. Just a little bit more...' Reks sighed.
'What are you doing anyway?' Reks asked getting impatient and a little nervous. 'Aren't you going to be crazy and near-suicide-bomb?' Zackary laughed and shook his head again.
'Well for one, the tunnel's clearly out and I see no fun in doing that. Besides, I might want this when our ride comes.' Zackary explained as he continued to fiddle around with the vehicle. Reks shrugged and said no more, continuing to take watch. 'And I am done!' Zackary said. Reks shrugged again.
'Great. Now will you--' Suddenly Reks saw someone jump quickly down the rubble. 'Zack! Get out of the way.' Reks yelled out. Zack looked up and then quickly reacted, jumping away from the motorcycle as someone ran in and slashed the motorcycle with a knife, particular to where the fuel was. The thick dark liquid began spraying out of the hole in the tank and onto the road. Reks held his weapons up and ready when the man slowly rose up. Zackary quickly took out his rifle as he recovered from his roll.
"Heh. Howdy..." The man said as he rose. Reks still held his guns up pointing at the man, his gaze unwavering. Zackary followed suit and kept his weapon poised for the split moment that something happened. There was a moments silence, save the warzone atmosphere of guns firing and shouts sounding, with some faint sounds of various vehicles. Finally Reks broke the silence.

'Why are you here?' Reks simply asked, not intending to go through any unimportant and pointless pre-battle babble, only desiring an answer before the battle began. Zackary just watched as his older cousin did all the talking, his heart beating faster as he waited for a single thing to happen. Suddenly, Zackary heard Reks speak, though not out loud nor on the comm. It was over their connection. 'Zackary... Here's the plan...' Reks spoke. Zackary looked over to Reks, but he still kept his stance unwavering whilst awaiting an answer. 'We'll hold off this guy and whoever else that is to come, not necessarily kill them, until our ride gets here.' Reks explained. 'When it does, we're going to get on it without delay, but whilst doing that, you're going to give them one last goodbye present. You understand?' Zackary thought about it before answering.
'I understand what you mean... But...' Zackary paused before going on. 'What if our ride doesn't get here?' There was silence. Reks hadn't answered. Zackary looked back to Reks and he still kept his stance unmovingly. Reks didn't know how to answer. He was just as unsure as Zackary was. He was nervous, and Zackary could feel it as well. The two kept up their stance, and both hoped it would turn out for the best.

Taylor rolled his eyes. "I didn't have to hit the bike. I could've hit one of you. But I didn't. Probably means I'm willing to do something quite foreign to you invaders: talk. So why don't you put down your guns, I'll put away my knives, and we can maybe make some kinda deal like civilized peeps? Or..." He raised his right hand, and a ball of fire appeared inches from his palm. "Or we could go with my backup plan, where we all blow up. So what sounds better, huh?" He smirked.

Biting her lip, Aisa dispelled her thoughts and looked towards where she had been heading. She was at a construction site; rubble, building material, and empty cranes were situated around the area. Vaguely wondering what she'd do next, she heard murmerings. "Are... doing Zack?" a slightly familiar voice asked. Aisa silently speculated why it felt like she knew the owner of the voice, the name as well... Maybe someone she knew? But then again, it could be anyone, perhaps she was just imagining it. "Almost... little bit..." another voice, also somewhat recognizable, and most likely Zach's replied. By this point, Aisa's curiousity got the best of her, she began making her way towards the voices; getting close enough to hear, but far enough that they couldn't see her. Once she was about 10 meters away, she stopped. Her back was against a pillar as she sat down. "What are you doing anyway? Aren't you going to be crazy and near-suicide-bomb?" the first voice questioned, annoyed. A laugh. "Well for one, the tunnel's clearly out and I see no fun in doing that. Besides, I might want this when our ride comes." commented Zach, the other remained silent. "And I am done!" he exclaimed.

Aisa noticed a figure moving silently towards the still-to-be-built tunnel. The outline seemed to be human, not a single anthromorphic feature, at least from what she saw. She pondered on what this new addition meant. If the figure knew the two others, and assuming that the shadow had belonged to a human, and that the two former voices knew this man, then that would mean that they weren't anthromorphs... "Great. Now will you--" the voice abruptly broke off, leaving Aisa to conclude that the shadow had probably moved upward to where the two voices were by now. "Zack! Get out of the way." a worried shouted. Guess this means that they aren't aquaintences. "Heh. Howdy..." the shadow annouced, then a pause. "Why are you here?" the former asked, shattering the silence.

"I didn't have to hit the bike. I could've hit one of you. But I didn't. Probably means I'm willing to do something quite foreign to you invaders: talk. So why don't you put down your guns, I'll put away my knives, and we can maybe make some kinda deal like civilized peeps? Or... Or we could go with my backup plan, where we all blow up. So what sounds better, huh?" theatened the figure.

So the figure from before was human, and the others were anthromorphs. Aisa digested the new information, and began putting everything in perspective. The two voices had been familiar because they were from her planet, she'd probably had met them somewhere before. "I should probably go up and see what's going on..." she whispered to herself. Breathing deeply before jumping up, readying herself, leaving all her emotions and thoughts behind, she put a cap on her expressions. A useful ability she learned while in training, it helped her out of many precarious situations that otherwise would have ended horribly if she actually showed her emotions. Aisa jumped on the bridge and landed on her feet, an easy feat for someone like her. "Hello~ Just thought I'd pop by, the situation was getting interesting." she smiled sweetly.

Taylor swallowed, and closed his hand around the fireball. This wasn't a welcome turn of events. "Alright, alright. Since I'm probably gonna get myself shot, I'm gonna just say my piece." He took a breath. "I want to talk to whoever's in charge of..." he waved his hands around, indicating the invasion armada, "...that. A couple-- a couple associates of mine have a few questions they'll want answered better than that pre-attack broadcast we got down here. I don't care who I end up talkin' to, so long as I get decent answers for my partners. So, uh... yeah. To reverse our classic cliché for this situation... 'take me to your leader,' dammit," he said. Running silently through his mind, on the other hand: ohgodihopeidontgetshotohshitimgonnagetshotarenti...

Negotiations

'We probably won't need to, but I'm pretty sure this guy isn't so dumb as to come up here alone...' Reks said over the connection. He still kept a stance as the man rolled his eyes.
"I didn't have to hit the bike. I could've hit one of you. But I didn't. Probably means I'm willing to do something quite foreign to you invaders: talk. So why don't you put down your guns, I'll put away my knives, and we can maybe make some kinda deal like civilized peeps? Or..." Reks tilted his head a moment as the man held up his right hand and conjured a ball of fire in his palm. "Or we could go with my backup plan, where we all blow up. So what sounds better, huh?" He smirked. Reks thought on it for a moment.
'You could've not slashed anything in the first place. Maybe then I don't have to point my guns at you.' Reks shot back. 'And I hardly believe you plan to throw your life away so easily.' He was about to finish up when another entered the situation. A bunny girl, another one of the anthromorphs, jumped onto the highway gracefully.
"Hello~ Just thought I'd pop by, the situation was getting interesting." She said whilst smiling. Zackary clearly lowered his gun and tilted his head and Reks sighed quietly under his helmet.
'Wonderful.' Reks mumbled. 'Join the party, Aisa.' Reks said. He recognised her from before he had come down to Earth. Not many people knew as much and think Reks is just shy and quiet, but he isn't deaf. He pays quite good attention to what happens around him almost all the time. And he never forgets faces.

Reks then saw clearly on the man's face that things haven't gone the way he wanted. Reks spotted the man swallow as he closed his hand around the fireball.
'take me to your leader,' dammit," Reks could clearly notice this man was getting unnerved. That or he was just acting. Reks could care less which, as long as it didn't affect anything major. Like getting back to the Infernas.
'You seem either really brave or really stupid to ask if you can head up to the Infernas.' Reks said, lowering his guns after a moment, deciding they weren't really needed for the moment. 'Not sure how I'd get you up there in the first place. I still cannot understand why you'd want to go in the first place.' Zackary looked at Reks and then to the man as he hold his rifle in his hands, not pointed at anyone.

'Hey cousin!' He called out. 'Maybe we can take him "prisoner"! That might work!' He suggested. Reks looked at Zack and shrugged.
'Like we've been told to do that. Our mission was to come down to Earth, retrieve some information, blow up the place and get out, killing anybody in our way.' Reks said sarcastically. 'Even IF we made it onto the ship without them executing him and IF we got him and the Captain or Colenel to speak with him for atleast 10 seconds before they shot him, and mind you those are very big IFs, then yeah. Great plan.' Reks explained. Zackary shrugged.
'Maybe Aisa can do it?' Zackary suggested as he looked over to Aisa.'Didn't you once tell me that you really didn't like violence and would hope as much to avoid it if possible?' Zackary asked. Reks then looked over to Aisa.
'Well in that case, it could work.' Reks said thoughtfully. He then looked back to the man. Reks put away his pistols and took off his helmet. He wasn't sure what the man was expecting, but Reks was pretty sure it wasn't an expectation of him being as young as he looked. Even to humans, it was pretty easy to tell Reks was really young. He waited for moment, his face rather passive and near emotionless as the wind blew against his face. Zackary tilted his head before putting away his rifle and then following suit and taking off his helmet, standing nearby as the silence ensued for a moment.

The sound of doors opening and closing snapped Nailo out of the unconscious. Gently she opened her eyes. Her vision was blurred. And her head hurt deeply and with a sharp pain.
The men where not at sight. Or at least, she could not hear them. Everything was silent around her.

Nailo tryed to move her body. But without much success. She moved her head too hard and bumped into something,it was cold.
Shel blinked a few times and tryed her best to make her sight improve.
Her vision was still blurred. She could only see outlines. Someone spoke. So, she slowly closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.

Her hands were shaking.Cos of the excitement. She knew it that she could be detected because of it. But she just couldn't help it.
