Why?
It's because the Tenrou Island S-Class Trial events were already
finished in the somewhat 3rd P.O.V. style of narrating and "old" (teenage) Zeref is already shown so no, it can't be young Zeref. The "Young Zeref" Theory can easily be debunked by c.234p.19-20 (for now).
Which leaves the "Future Romeo" route (for now).
Past tense= Future P.O.V., Past Romeo= Future Romeo (from Future P.O.V.) Makes sense, right? Good.

c.241p.10 and p.12- GWM has lots of mysteries into it and I believe a complete Arc of Time is just one of its uses. GH needs Zeref to access the GWM. Ultear needed Zeref to access the Complete Arc of Time (CAT) within the GWM. Zeref is the key to GWM and the CAT. Let's see, Zeref is still on the island along with Natsu, Lucy, Gray and Erza and everyone else. Hmmm.... :sneaky:

What if Hades is lying? He is an evil villain old guy after all, he might've tricked our lovely Ultear!!!"---You might ask. Do not fret, based from canon proof, he most probably didn't lie about the CAT. And that's coming next.

c.242p.14- This suggests that Zeref can access CAT. He can "come" (travel) to any age he wants. For some reason, he shows signs of having double personalities, one that is of a calm nature and one that is of an uncontrollabe "wild" nature.
Reasons regarding this is pointing to a whole new theory in general, try Placa's theory if you want but for this theory to work, we will use his "Uncontrollable, wild" Nature.

Zeref's Rampage
Zeref will go "out of control" for some unknown reason. He'll initiate GWM and activate CAT (AOE) and warp them into future Romeo's timeline.
The boy who stares at the sea--- might be wondering, thinking... "What happened that day?" "Where did you guys go?"

-FT will weaken, will lose its status as one of the most powerful and respected guilds in all of Fiorre and possibly disband.

The eye did do something. Now I'm wondering what this living power source for the ship is doing. It's for certain it's the power source and not the ship itself that is alive, otherwise Ultear couldn't have used her time magic on it (there's that plot hole of being able to use it on a tree but that's another issue).
