I guess my country would be Australia since I haven't lived in Indonesia at all.

I'm enjoying it's safe-ish aspects and fun scenery which is clean. Politics and stuff like that don't interest me much, but I guess I should learn more and retain that info for next time.

Proud's quite a strong word, but I doubt I'd be willing to leave Australia since it's a wonderful place to visit.

I am very proud of my country, South Korea, for the status it has now. Yes, it has a lot of problems politically and socially, but the way it picked itself up economically after being ravaged by war and division really makes me proud to be a South Korean citizen. Every now and then my lecturer mentions it in his development lectures, and also people seem to know more about the tiny nation than they used to, say, 10 years ago. I love Korea~ <3

I'm embarrassed of my country (U-S-A!). Or rather, I'm embarrassed of certain people who live here, and the things they believe in.

There are good things too, though, and overall I'm grateful that I live here.

Well you know, I used to be embarassed of my country too. But then I realized There are tons of groups of people in EVERY country that are biased and not so wise. A lot of middle easterns to women, africans against the light skins, Japanese making it difficult for anyone thats not native to live there, Im sure i dont even need to get into it. I used to think of America as just a bunch of ignorant people that are fat and a capitalist government that just takes over whatever it wants. Then I sat back and realized tons of great things came from a America, some of the best in the world, and how many other country emulate it. And how many people want to immigrate here. I realized its not just a country, but a collection of every country around the world. And a government and a certain group of people dont dictate the beautiful people of a certain area.

Very good point, Crom. I am not American myself, but I can totally relate to what you're getting at. Thing is, wherever you go there are going to be disgraces to your country, it's inevitable. And not just America, but everywhere, literally. Well, you seem to be one of those Americans who are not ignorant :)

I can't say I'm disappointed with my country, but I can't say I'm exactly proud either. Sure, we've got a high standard of living, but rising housing prices, increased focus on meritocracy, and a clearly non-democratic government makes me cringe.

I live in Philippines.

And I'm proud of it.

Sure! We are top 1 in terms of corruption. We are classified as one of the third world countries. We have poor citizens (like me. OTL) and We have a poor foundation in terms of Government and Economy.

But the fact that we live happily right now, that Manny Pacquiao is once again a winner in terms of boxing, Christian Bautista being a celebrity in Indonesia, Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa famous in Malaysia, Cristine Reyes awarded in South Korea (and actually as pretty as the PRETTIEST ARTIST IN SOUTH KOREA), Charice and Arnel Pineda famous in America, Leah Salonga in Broadway, and many many more, makes me very very proud.

We are indeed POOR.

But HAPPY.

We are proud citizens of the Philippines.
