Janne da Arc is a five member rock band. The band was first formed in 1989 by Yasu, You, and Ka-yu; however, a few months later Ka-yu left the band. In 1991 Yasu and You teamed up with Kiyo and started formally going by the name Janne da Arc. Ka-yu and Shuji teamed up with the band in 1992. They performed most Indies music till 1999 and were only releasing demo tapes. In 1999 Janne da Arc started commercially releasing singles. Their first album, D.N.A., came out the following year. Since then, they have been quite successful.
