For me, it would be guitar, bass and drums. But now since I haven't played the bass and drums in a while, I stick with the acoustic guitar for me writing songs, which I had produced three songs out of it. :bingo2:

well in my experience of songwriting, i would prefer the best of both worlds, not to say that pop music is lacking in, but sometimes music nowadays without lyrics do turn out quite bad.. but with lyrics, it may compensate for the bad melody, but if you are a true musician, then fully...

Hm, for me I would listen to almost anything that sounds good, but normally it falls into Rock/Metal/Alternative with a bit of pop/R&B/hip-hop should be okay, but not hip-hop to the extreme.

Hm for me it is a mix of the classical rock/ modern metal. I'll just list out a few bands: Avenged Sevenfold, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Trapt, Black Tide, Trivium, All That Remains. and some bands like Paramore, Parkway Drive, Still Remains, MCR, Dead Poetic, Skillet.
